A picture named pears.JPG

Better with pears.

The CSA veggies showed an improvement this week. We still didn't get any tomatoes (I guess they only planted the kind that come early), but we did get a nice big bag of pears! They are tiny, and hard as rocks (the variety is called "Seckle") but I'm assuming they'll ripen up just fine.

We also got:
* a few Yukon Gold potatoes (but most were already sprouting)
* half-a-dozen of those yellow/green striped summer squash
* two heads of garlic
* a nice bag of Swiss Chard
* some arugula
* a green pepper
* some Italian parsley
* and (best of all) some more of those sweet little beets

It's still not enough to make me want to sign up again next year. But at least I feel like I'll be getting some more good stuff this season.

Note to Foodies: Check out the "Veggie Venture" blog at the top of my list (left). The author is a friend of a friend (see Friday's comments) and her blog is deliciosso!
