Now I'm getting mad
The potoatoes in the CSA bag of veggies this week were so soft and full of sprouts that I had to throw them out.
And it's not the first time. Week before last, I had to pitch most of the beets and half the summer squash because they were soft, and before that, the big bunch of basil we get had already gone to bloom.
It's just not right.
I finally called the guy and left an angry message on his machine. I feel like calling the veggie police--or, better yet, picketing his stand at the farmer's market.
Those early cherry tomatoes were wonderful. And so were the lovely little lavender eggplants.
But soggy potatoes and mushy squash--that's just not right.
Note to eastern Missouri and western Illinois veggie lovers: Don't buy veggies from Biver Farms.
