Getting going again...
I've been feeling like a slug for turning into a couch potato again (mixed metaphors, I know, but you get the point) after training to walk the San Francisco marathon a year and a half ago, so last week I joined St. Louis Workout (in the basement of the Chase Park Plaza Hotel.)
It's way cheaper than the newer, trendier (and window-y-er) places, but it's got lots of treadmills and those eliptical machines and when I went this morning at 6:00 (yes!), it wasn't crowded at all.
They also have a very nice restorative yoga class on Wednesday nights, and T'ai Chi on Saturday afternoons--both included in the monthly fee. (They've got a lot of other stuff too: power yoga and free weights and pilates and cardio-kickboxing, etc. But hey, I know my limits.)
Anyway, I'm back on the program.
My plan:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings do the treadmill thing from 6-ish to 7:00. (Or walk in Forest Park when the weather turns nice.) Take restorative yoga class on Wed nights and do T'ai Chi on Saturdays.
Then mabye take one of those awesome hiking vacation in Wales a year or so from now!
I'll let you know how it goes.
