post modern
I took a shot of this bit of mc donald's garbage just because it seemed like a very post modern thing to do.
I used to spend a lot of time thinking things like mc donald's garbage that you find on the ground may contain secrets to the universe and in some ways may be more valuable and meaningful than Michael Angelo's David or the great wall of China. But during this period of such thinking, I didn't have a car, or a girlfriend and I made $5 dollars an hour.
(Thinking weird thoughts were free, and kind of fun).

nothing too exciting
Mariel and I walked down to North Shore park looking for neat things to put on the blog.
We didn't see anything too exciting. There were some people playing tennis. The only thing that's really interesting about this shot is that the guy probably didn't think he'd end up on the internet tonight.
There were a lot of people out looking at the eclipse. I tried to take a picture of it, but it just looked like a round white blur. Oh well.

This is my little girl Mariel. She's eight and a half years old. She stays over here with me on weekends.
Mariel's favorite things to do are to eat candy and watch tv. I'll say, "you want to go to the park or something?" and she'll say, "Nah."
I showed her our blog with our house and our iguanas on it.
"Cool," she said. Then we went for a walk to see if we could get some interesting picutures for the blog.

The giant cat that fell from space and landed in my yard (con'td)
The giant cat hallucination was enhanced by the sidewalk that intersected my stone walk way. The sidewalk was his arms, laying out flat from the fall from space. There was also a little trail of stones that made up his tail in the appropriate spot. This picture really doesn't do it justice. (Basically, you had to be there, on ecstasy).

The giant cat that fell from space and landed in my yard
A couple months back I was doing quite a bit of ecstasy. One night after doing a couple of hits I looked out my front door and saw something amazing. My front walk way looked like a giant cat that had fallen from space and landed flat on its back. You can see the cat face in my side walk in a couple off different ways. The two red hexagons at the top can be either eyes or ears. The gray hexagons form the nose and mouth. The two white hexagons between the gray and the red can be either eyes, or nothing, depending on your hallucination. The ecstasy adds a lot too.

This is my little house in St. Petersburg. Well, it's not really mine, it's a rental. But I like it. It's old and its got character. The last time it sold was in 1965 for $5000. (Five thousand). I don't know who the current owner is. I just drop my rent check to the management company each month.
I stuck an American flag on my porch when the Iraq war started. It seemed like the thing to do, and I kind of like the way it looks. Plus, you don't have to feed it like the cat and the iguanas.
Sometimes I'll be startled at night by this dark, undulating figure in my window. But it's just my American flag casting its shadow under the street light.

These are my iguanas. When I got them they were both the same small size. After a few months one of them has grown to be very big, and the other one has remained very small. I can't tell you their names because I never named them. I thought Rosco and Billybob would be funny names for iguanas, but I ran that past my daughter and she didn't really like Roscoe and Billybob. So they just remain nameless.
I have to go to the store every two days and get them very expensive lettuce. They need the expensive lettuce to continue their meaningful lives in their cage.

This is Matt. He installed my fire wire card and thus enabled himself to be pictured on this blog.
I paid him with two pieces of pizza and a cup of Sprite Tropical remix.
When Matt was in high school he went to see U2 here in St. Pete. This was back when U2 was still cool.
At one point Bono asked if someone from the audience could come up and play guitar with them. Matt got up on stage and played guitar for u2. Matt and u2 played "knockin' on heaven's door."
(Matt hates it when you tell that story).

This is Lisa Marie's cat, Koa. When Lisa Marie left, she took her lap top computer and her vibrator and her television. But she left her cat.
Her cat has to be fed everymorning and every night. It eats a special kind of cat food for overweight cats. Koa will meow at me to tell me that he is hungry.
"Look," I will say, "there's food still in your bowl." But Koa just keeps meowing. He wants freshly poured dry cat food.
Koa can get out of the house by himself, but he cant get in. This causes a strange situation where I'm sitting on my couch watching tv and suddenly koa will start meowing. I'll say, "goddamnit," and then get up and let Koa in. Twenty minutes later I'll still be on the couch watching tv, when suddenly Koa starts meowing again from outside. "Goddamnit!" I'lll say.
