blog to blog resusitation

I was looking at some blogs at the bottom of the rankings list last night to see what was going on down there.  I checked out Everything that Sucks for the first time in months.  I saw that the girl had basically signed off from her blog a couple of weeks ago and was just letting it die (sort of like the potted plants on my front porch).  But Everything that Sucks still gets a few token hits just from being there (sort of like my plants get some lucky rain here and there), and thus it manages to hang on to the charts.

Then I got this idea.  What if I clicked on Everything that Sucks like a thousand times or so, giving the blog its most hits ever.  Then maybe the girl that writes it would be happy and inspired to keep going--sort of like blog to blog resusitation.  Maybe she would even change the name to Everything that's Wonderful!.  Maybe it would be the best thing that ever happened to her in her life.

So I decided to try it.  I clicked a bunch of times and then checked her hit count.  Sure enough, it went up about ten points or so.  So then I clicked a whole bunch more times.  But when I checked again her hit count stayed the same.  Maybe it takes a little while to register new hits, I thought.  I clicked about twenty times more and then went to the rankings page again.  Still no change.  So then I clicked clicked and clicked and checked and checked and checked.  But her hit count stayed the same.

Hmmm.  Maybe they have a limit to the number of hits from a single person per day, I figured.

That sucks.

who cares?

I get so hurt and disappointed when I feel like there is not enough response (hits or comments) to my blog.

But in the meantime I barely ever look at other people's blogs.  When I do, I usually read about two sentences and then I think, who cares?  And then I go back and check my hits. You fuckers, I say when I see the disappointing hit count.

oh well

Boy, it kind of sucks to see my blog flat line and even decline in readership.  I would think that after months of posting there would be some net growth of interest.  But I'm not read much more than the people that haven't posted in weeks.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to kill myself.

unnecessary stress

A picture named coffeflilter.gifI lived for months with this girl Tiffany.  She was really pretty and I loved her and I thought we had the perfect little life for a while.

I used to get up every morning and use her coffee maker to make coffee.

The problem was, the old coffee grinds in the old coffee filter were always there waiting for me from the day before.  This was a problem because I didn't know that the wet, coffee ground mush ladedn filter was sitting in a little removable cup. I thought you had to pull the wet coffee filter out by its fragile edges and get it over to the garbage can before it ripped and spilled all over the floor.  Sometimes I made it to the garbage can safely,  and sometimes I did not.

Anyway, a few months later my thing with Tiffany was in the garbage can too.
