nora report
Rachel has a little sister named Nora. Through the course of my daily chatting with Rachel, I got a chance to hear, more or less, what Nora did on her lunch break today:
Nora came home to their apartment and attempted to make popcorn, but it burned. Then Nora cursed for a while and went back to work, leaving the smell of burnt popcorn.
(It helps to know that Nora is very grumpy, and thin as a string bean).

self-centered
I've been accused of being "self-centered" so many times that I finally asked Rachel what that means exactly.
"It means that whatever situation you're in, all you're thinking about is yourself," she said.
"Well, is it the same thing as being selfish?" I said.
"I think its actually kind of worse," Rachel said. "At least a purely selfish person tends to profit from his selfishness if he's at all smart about it."
