Ronald
Since I know he's been checking in lately, here's a Mark Bradley memory:
One time (in the 1970s) when we were playing at his house, I found out that Mark Bradley's middle name was Ronald. I think because of the association with Ronald Mc Donald, I found this extremely funny and started teasing him about it.
In fact, I found these little, toy, plastic steam shovel jaws in his room and I started squeezing them open and shut and saying, "ROOOOOOOON-ald McDOOOOOOOOOn-ald! ROOOOOOOOON-ald Mc DOOOOOOON-ald, etc."
Mark just kind of brushed aside this nonsense with his precocious dignity, and attempted to go about the serious project he was doing.
I remember he was doing something with a tape-recorder--recording some sort of sound effect, or Star Wars related thing. He was taking it very seriously, and when he started his recording, it was like a real sound studio situation where the red light goes on and nobody could talk.
Of course, everytime he started his very serious thing with the tape recorder, I just had to break out the little plastic jaws and go, "ROOOOOOOOOON-ald Mc DOOOOOOOOOON-ald! ROOOOOOOOOOOOOON-ald Mc DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON-ald!"
After doing this a couple of times and ruining his recording, Mark Bradley told me I had to go out into the hallway while he finished this project. I grudingly agreed, but I took the little plastic jaws with me.
From outside his bedroom door, I listened intently for just the right moment and then I burst into his room and went,
"ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON-ald Mc DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON-ald!!!!RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOON-ald Mc DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON-ald!!!"
Soon after that, Mark Bradley's mother told me that I would have to go home for the day.
