just sit right back and you'll hear a tale.....
I had boats on my mind yesterday afternoon, after one of our customers showed me this boat for sale (not the one pictured here)--his was a 19' windstar sailboat that came with its own slip on the scenic and lovely downtown waterfront. I couldn't believe that this nice little day sailer was available for under $3,000. (It made me think, hmmm, maybe I could be living the good life if I didn't spend all of my money on eccentric (foolish) ego-maniacal art projects.
Anyyyyyyyyyyyyway: because of my boat mindset, I couldn't help but stop and peruse some other boats for sale, parked at the entrance to our local home depot (where I was buying expensive hardware for a foolsin and ego-maniacal art project).
But this boat (now the one pictured) was definitely the photo of the day prize winner. It was perhaps the smallest, stupidest boat I had ever seen. I really wish there was someone there to snap the photo for me, so you could see how small it was compared to a human body. But instead I put that gatorade bottle on the bow so you could have some sense of scale. (All the while I was taking the photo I was nervous that passersby were thinking that I was really serioulsy inquiring about this vessel. I honestly couldn't imagine a scenario where you could put this boat in actual water, without risk to your personal well-being, except for maybe a swimming pool on a calm and sunny day (and maybe not even then.)
And stll the owner had written $450, FIRM. And then there was a phone number: 458-6636. (Area code 727).
