Wet dog. Sun shining. Nice out. Not too hot at all. Ain't that a surprise! From the haunted house across the street comes Billy Bragg singing Woody. S sits across from me, reads from a book about the Mexica with a codex picture of what -- a warrior spitting out blood? -- on the cover. Inside, he tells me, is the nauhuatl word for clit and other surprises. Reminds us it's not all about sacrifice, about spilling blood for this or that. Diagrams with numbers illustrate the point; Nauhuatl words and English translations. 6:04:44 PM | Everything is _fine_. First entry of my first weblog. I thought of calling this A Yankee's Search for Inner Peace in New Orleans after spending last weekend at the Zen Temple down the road. Then I used my newly developed concentration skills to think it through. Why limit myself? What about all the craziness that makes it so impossible to find peace of any kind? So this will be personal at times, political at others. I'll post the occasional photo, little bits of found art. Whatever comes to mind. To get this thing going I've posted a month's worth of entries from my blog before it was a blog. It's a story called The Past.
