I'm interested in the relationship between images and text, as I'm sure you've noticed. Here's a photo I took in Oaxaca this year and a poem I've been working on inspired by it.

Here she is obscured
covered in plastic tacked
to ancient stone walls.
You can see her there
her halo rocked
toward the ground
tilted as Saturn's rings
tilt. You can't see
her eyes half-closed
focused on the floor
focused on our failures.

Somehow this David Brooks article led us to talk about Peter Singer, that other neo-Nazi among us. Here's a good opinion piece about him from the Village Voice, written soon after Singer's appointment to a chaired professorship in Princeton's Ethics department.
