Hilarious. 6:20:32 PM | For all of you Yat wannabes (or NOLA visitors who are in need of a dictionary to get by), here it is, a list of common words in the "yatbonics" lexicon brought to you by the Southern Yat Club. A sample: Ban'ket (n): A sidewalk, correctly spelled 'banquette'. During Mardi Gras, banquettes serve as a measurement tool for sobriety. If you don't trip and fall in the gutter, its time for another beer. Just today one of my co-workers (who has been giddily telling me about Mardi Gras for months -- he's so excited to introduce a northerner to all the craziness) told me to watch out for the Phunny Phorty Phellows, the Uptown krewe that "officially" opens up Mardi Gras season with their Twelfth Night street car ride. Unofficially, my co-worker told me, Mardi Gras season starts on Holloween: "The debauchery begins that night and goes on to Ash Wednesday. It's just starting to get fun!" He admonished me for not starting on my costume. Seems I should have been working on it since last Ash Wednesday. Bad immigrant yat (yatiens migratoris) I am! Word to the wise: watch out for those ban'kets, revelers. Trust me on that one. Fa'Sure. |

I just did a google search for "new orleans location manager" to see what I'd find. First up? None other than the ghost house across the street. Our authentic ghost house is the most famous actor in New Orleans, eh? 5:52:43 PM | |
