Yippee! I'm back!

Finally got things settled down here in NOLA -- every semester we have a new "topic" we're supposed to teach, so I had to rewrite my syllabus. I tend to ignore the direct topic (I can't help myself -- last semester was "Televsion, For Better or Worse," and this semester is "Fashion and Flesh." For English 101! Ugh.), but I feel an obligation to follow it somewhat (I'm going with "identity" this semester -- always good!). Anyway, I've had no time to blog, no time to do much of anything except have a bit of fun (more on that later. Wink wink.).

Here's a couple of photos. The first is of the gumbo and mud bugs we bought on our way into town from Kentucky. What a way to get back into NOLA! Yum yum. The second is of LaGrange, Kentucky, the only town I've visited where a freight train runs through the middle of town several times a day. We were eating lunch in the cafe on the right. It has a lovely view of the train, as you can see.

I'll write more later tonight or tomorrow. I'll try my best to rant as little as possible. There's just so much!!
