Farewell, Gelertner. Thanks for the outrage.I'm not sure who I hate more, Bush or the punk-ass chickenhawks who follow him. 7:08:02 PM | David Gelertner's inaugural column in the LA Times today made me so p**sed I rattled off a letter to the editor within minutes of reading it. How dare he question our support of the troops?! How dare he? And how dare he exploit the story of a young marine for his f**king column?!! I can't stand it!!! After I took a break from tearing out my hair and kicking the crap out of my door jamb, I decided the healthy thing to do was to add Gelertner to my list of columnists never to read, lest I fall victim to a stroke or a heart attack or something equally awful from reading his foolish words. I'm too young to die! So here it is: my first and last post about David Gelertner. David, may your keyboard revolt and turn all of your columns into rows and rows of Xs, blighting out all of your nincompoopery and therefore saving door jambs across America from your readers' wrath. Ta ta! |

Afghanistan in Pictures![]() An Afghan lumber yard. A little different than Home Depot, don't you think? ![]() A mural of canons painted on a crumbling wall, protected by barbed wire and a chain-link fence. More evidence of years of conflict. ![]() The view from an uparmored HUMMVV. More than 1,000,000 troops have driven through the streets of Afghanistan and Iraq in Hummers, though the vast majority have not had the luxury of driving in uparmored ones thanks to our "support our troops," "compassionate conservative" government. To this day, many of our troops have inadequate equipment. S and his group had to buy their own motorola radios -- $140 each -- because the national guard leadership will not supply them. Don't you love this country? ![]() An approaching sandstorm. S said you could look directly at the sun because its light was so obscured by dust. |
