Radio, RadioI've given up. I will forever have
to choose black as the font color for my posts if they are to be black.
Otherwise they are grey. It's a mystery; I posted a question about it
on Radioland's discussion board and a very nice person responded with
directions. I did as I was told (I'm good at that!), but voila, here it
is, the same. 9:52:00 AM | Oh well. |
A sea of white crossesDr. Omed has
been living in broken blog land for some time now, but that doesn't
mean he hasn't been busy. Thanks to Feral, he still has
a home at Salon.
Recently, he made white crosses to honor soldiers killed in Iraq and
put them up in the grassy median of a Tulsa highway. Read about it here.
9:20:44 AM | Imagine a nation covered in these crosses. That's where our blood-lust administration is leading us. And our out-to-lunch media is forcing us to be the ones to keep the memories of the dead alive. I think this is an important project, Doc. I hope others join you. I'm not sure I have the stomach for it right now. But I think I will when S comes home. |
An absence of numbersTwenty-two
dead by the seventeenth of the month. 9:09:51 AM | How does this signify success? Democratization? The media may ignore it, but that doesn't mean it's over. The coverage may change, but the violence doesn't. Today, too, a base in Afghanistan was hit. Yes, that's two wars we're waging. Our administration and our media may be dead set on sending these wars down the memory hole, but we can't let them. They're not over!! People are still dying!! Don't be fooled by the absence of numbers. Two wars. Twenty-two plus fifteen soldiers dead. And we're only here on the seventeenth, the middle of the cruelest month. |
