Matt and I have been at odds today. It is not a unusual situation as he is my sixteen year old Grandson and I am his sixty-six year old Grandmother. It is never more than a mild difference of opinion (mine) but it distresses my son somewhat.
Matt is a great kid. Highly intelligent, makes school seem easy, goes to church and does many activities with the youth group etc. I need to allow Matt to be Matt. Since the start of my visit I have been the car pool person for him and he is polite and grateful. I know he is even though he rarley says thank you and keeps asking me when I will be returning home. He will get his "drive alone even after dark licence" next week and though I won't miss the driving ,I will miss the car.
