Oh how Khmer Rouge of you
One of the things that keep amazing me in political discussions is how some people seem to hate intellectuals, or, as they are often called, the elite. (Funny, but I always considered the elite to be the people with lots of money and power, who often would not qualify as intellectuals.) I don’t understand this hatred. Here are some analogies I’ve come up with:
If you could choose the coach of your favourite football team, would you choose someone who knows about physical fitness, about tactics, about the way the game is played or just another fan?
If you could choose the person to manage your company, would you choose someone who has experience in management, knows the business you’re in and knows a bit about the technology involved or the guy who cleans the toilets?
If Gary Kasparov would play a chess match against a monkey, on who would you bet your life’s savings?
I don’t know, but to me it’s quite obvious: l337 h4x0rz 0wn!!!111!!! lol ;D
