Canada's View on Social Issues Is Opening Rifts With the U.S. [New York Times: International News]

"Chris Ragan, a McGill University economist, observed: "You can be a social conservative in the U.S. without being a wacko. Not in Canada.""

First, what the fuck is Prof. Ragan talking about? The social conservatives in the U.S. ARE the wackos! Wackos are wackos in Canada and the U.S. The difference is, the U.S. has way more wackos than Canada. In Canada, we try to limit wackoism to the province of Alberta. In the U.S., there isn't a wacko-free state in the union. Wackos, wackos, wackos.

Second, yeah for rifts with the U.S.! The General says, more rifts! If rifts be the fruit of love, give me excess of them! The U.S. is currently the wackiest country on the planet: Why would Canadians want to be like Americans?

Fifty percent of Americans believe the Bible is the literal truth. No other fact need be trotted out in front of an assemblage of reasonable persons to decide the degree of "wacko" in the United States.

MoveOn moves up. O'Reilly, DeLay and the GOP have declared war on it. But the online citizen movement grows richer and stronger by the day. [Salon Headlines]

The General has donated. So should you.
