America supported Saddam Hussein with money and weapons for a decade, then let him go when Bush Sr. had the chance to take him out.
America supported Osama Bin Laden and other "freedom fighters" in the war against the Soviet Union with $8 billion from the CIA.
How soon America forgets. America is full of shit, and The General is sick of it.

"The capture of Saddam Hussein restored a sense of unity today among world leaders as they welcomed the seizure of one of the Middle East's most brutal dictators and expressed hope that his arrest would open a new chapter of stability and reconciliation in Iraq."
What the fuck? So, Arabs are suddenly going to embrace America because Saddam Hussein is in custody? Are you fucking kidding me? I'm sure the Arab world is going to celebrate 4 more years of George W. Bush, the born again Christian wacko at the helm of the most powerful stupid country in the world.
How does Hussein's arrest change ANYTHING, except the ameliorating effect it will have on an American public that hates complexity and believes anything its retarded leader tells it?

"How big a political lift will President Bush derive from the capture of Saddam Hussein?
Very big indeed, said several political scientists, who used words like "huge," "enormous" and "profound.""
Huh?
I guess I shouldn't be surprised by the dog and pony show being put on by the American media over the capture of Saddam Hussein (ten miles from his hometown -- and yet it took several months to locate him? Smells fishy, but at this point it doesn't matter. But don't be surprised if Bin Laden shows up a few months before the election. Probably got him in a cell in Pakistan right now, just waiting for the latest Gallup numbers.) I shouldn't be surprised, but I am. Jesus Fucking Christ. Has everyone forgotten the real issues here?
I can't believe what a bunch of whores the American media are. Bush illegally invades another country, sacrificing the lives of poor Americans for the benefit of billionaire oil execs, and creates hostility toward America and its ally Israel like never before seen in American politics, and the media line up with their jingoistic support. No connection between Iraq and 9/11? Who cares! 15 of the 19 9/11 hijackers are from Saudi Arabia, but America invades Afghanistan? Who cares! Faulty intelligence that propels a country to invade another country and kill innocent civilians? Who cares! A White House that bullies media people into reporting positively on Bush's policies? Who cares! Don't ask, don't tell! It's the American way!
The General is stunned by the outpouring of jingoistic sentiment in the American media following Hussein's capture. I was trying to watch a fucking football game on Fox, and they broke away from the post-game show to televise the Packers' post-game celebration, in which the coach gave a US army vet in a wheelchair the "game ball." Fuck me! I know Fox is Bush's number one media slut, but is anyone out there buying this shit? I just felt sick watching this poor man in a wheelchair, who probably believes that he fought for a noble cause and sacrificed his health for the betterment of American society. It makes me sick to see lives thrown away for a bunch of greedy billionaires (I know, I know -- this is the history of civilization, and it will never change). Some wars are legitimate: WWII was necessary and legitimate. The "invasion" of Iraq was not a war, and its justification is nonexistent. I respect the people in the military who did what they were told and went to battle; but I don't respect the rich fuckers who sent them on behalf of the Halliburtons, Dick Cheneys, and hawkish Zionists of the world.
Now the world must suffer the so-called "trial" of Saddam Hussein, which will undoubtedly last several months and occupy American airwaves in place of the investigative journalism that was in the process of revealing how corrupt this president and his innner circle really are. The American media are the equivalent of a five-year-old child with ADD: Their master gets threatened with the truth, and they yell, "Look over there!!" End of problem.
And another thing: Notice how the story is being spun as "more good news for Bush." How the fuck is a slight improvement in the economy that Bush ass-raped for three years into a record deficit "good news"? The economy had nowhere to go but up!
The only way America was going to be taught a lesson (that the rule of international law is more important than the rule of American oil companies via the American military) was by shedding more American blood in Iraq (which is not to downplay the enormous loss of life already expended). The media have ignored American casualties (despite more American dead in the invasion of Iraq than in the first two years of Vietnam). Now that Bush is planning to run away in the summer, and now that Hussein has been caught, it doesn't matter if the whole country goes to shit under a new dictator moments after the US leaves. No one in the United States would report it anyway.
