OK, nevermind the endorsement from Madonna. Today Wesley Clark was endorsed by Michael Moore in a letter on his website titled "I'll Be Voting For Wesley Clark/ Good-bye Mr. Bush." To conservatives, that's probably not much different than an endorsement from Madonna; but I think it will be meaningful to many Democrats.

Moore outlines several reasons for his endorsement, including Clark's stated intention to abolish income taxes for families of four earning less than $50,000 and to increase taxes on the wealthy. Clark is anti-war, opposed to the draft, and has a strong record on racial equality. He has also promised to overhaul the Patriot Act, and to cut the Pentagon budget and use the money instead for health and education.

General Stuff, naturally, likes a real general who is liberal, so General Stuff has to agree with Moore's endorsement. Anyone is better than Bush, for America's sake and the sake of the world. The corporate media have already taken their shots at Dean, and it's unlikely they will change their tune. Dean has been labelled a nutty liberal by the media, and I don't see how he will shake that. Clark is virtually unassailable, though of course the corporate media will play up whatever weakness they can to ensure that their man Bush stays in office. Even though Dean is more charismatic than Clark, Clark has the record and the military experience to beat Bush.

You can donate to Clark's campaign here.
