I hope the Democrats really run with the fact that Bush went AWOL from his military service, a fact repeated recently by Michael Moore and Wesley Clark. Moore's website refers to a comprehensive review of the story on TomPaine.com.

"Both Bush and his aides have made numerous statements to the effect that Bush fulfilled all of his guard obligations. They point to Bush's honorable discharge as proof of this. But the records indicate that George W Bush missed a year of service. This lack of regular attendance goes against the basic concept of a National Guard kept strong by citizen soldiers who maintain their skills and preparedness through regular training."

Put Kerry and Clark on a ticket against Bush and Cheney, and then ask Bush about his military service. I'm not one who wants to promote war, but I have more respect for those who were called and served than those who hid behind their rich daddy's money, and I think if Bush is going to play the "war" card then he should be compared with other potential leaders on his "war" record.

The General knows the mass media will not run with this story come election time, but hopefully it will maintain a presence in the election process, by way of the Democrats or other interested parties.
