My nine-year-old son had a how to assignment to do for school. He decided he wanted to write about "How to operate a home theater." It ended up something like this:
1) pick up universal remote control
2) select TV and hit power to turn on television
3) set television to Input 1
4) select DVD and hit power to turn on DVD player
5) insert DVD disc into tray and close door
6) select audio and hit power to turn on surround sound receiver
7) choose Dolby Digital 5.1 setting
8) select DVD and hit play
9) dim the lights and enjoy the show
Dim the lights and enjoy the show? I thought back to when I was his age and how different things were. I believe my first how to essay was entitled "How to make mud." It went something like this:
1) pick up garden hose
2) locate dirt
3) spray dirt with water
4) jump in and enjoy the bath
