Peeling Wallpaper is one year old today. Sometimes it’s hard to imagine that the time went by so fast; other times I can’t believe that it has only been one year. Depends upon my mood. Tonight my disposition begs the question: I wonder if that chicken I had for lunch is responsible for the gurgling in my stomach. Of course this has nothing to do with how fast or slow time has passed, but it has everything to do with the passing of, well, never mind.
On the second day of writing this blog I received a comment from someone called John B. His comment was in response to a story I wrote called Luck of the Draw, which was about my muse and how I don’t get along with him. John B had this to say: “I can’t even comment on this. What the eff is going on here?”
It was disappointing for me to get such negative feedback so early on. One year and hundreds of stories later, John B’s comment is still fresh in my mind. In fact, I have come to agree with him. I don’t have an effing clue what this blog is about either. But you know what? I kind of like it that way. It’s the journey that matters, remember?
This limerick is for you John B:
What the eff is going on here?
The tales you tell strike me so queer.
You write of your muse,
A squeak in your shoes.
This silly blog won’t last a year.
