Me? Meme?

I’ve never done a meme before. Can you imagine? I’ve been blogging for about a year and a half and I’ve managed to stay away from these infectious devices. Anyway,  I was “stuck” with this one by Birdie who was in turn stuck by Didi. So I’ll do it. What the hell.

You're stuck inside Fahrenheit 451, which book do you want to be?
“Life on the Mississippi.” I can’t imagine a better place to be.

Have you ever had a crush on a fictional character?
 Marge Simpson.

The last book you bought is:
 “Kafka on the Shore” by
Haruki Murakami (I absolutely loved this book.)

The last book you read:
“The Snapper” by Roddy Doyle (lightweight airplane reading)

What are you currently reading?
Lots and lots of poetry and about a month’s worth of New Yorkers.

Five books you would take to a deserted island:
 American Heritage dictionary 3rd edition

“Zippy Stories” by Bill Griffith (I simply can’t imagine life without Zippy)

“Life on the Mississippi” by Mark Twain

“Don Quixote” by Miguel de Cervantes (Maybe I’ll finally finish this thing)

“Lord of the Flies” by William Golding (Could come in useful on the island)

“On the Road” by Jack Kerouac (Sorry, I’m taking six books)

Who are you going to pass this stick to (3 persons) and why?

Jill (because I wonder how she will handle question #2)

Al (because I’m curious about what he would take to a deserted island)

Mark (because I don’t think he’s done one of these silly things either)

Today’s lunch explained

I dropped in at Conor’s school today hoping to get some answers from the cafeteria staff concerning the choice of entrees on the menu to celebrate St. Patrick’s day. The lunch ladies were not expecting me. Ha! I should have known that the “Incredibly Naughty Cafeteria Ladies From Outer Space” had something to do with this.

If you don’t have a young reader at home then you probably don’t have a clue what this is about. Stop by Amazon.com and check out the oeuvre of Dav Pilkey and his “Captain Underpants” series of books. You really have no idea…
