Just add water
On Saturday I meticulously tended to my lawn. I rented a machine that de-thatched the turf and cut parallel grooves several inches into the soil. I raked up and bagged the debris. I spread 500 pounds of topsoil around the yard where the soil was thin. I dropped 40 pounds of high purity, drought resistant, tall fescue seeds. I watered, and watered, and watered some more. This morning, I got up early and walked down the driveway to retrieve the newspaper. I stopped along the way and inspected my work. Nothing grew. All that work and not a single new blade of grass. How long do I have to wait? I am not a patient man.
This is going to end up just like with those sea monkeys when I was ten. I just know it.
