Beyond Jazz?
Once in a while, I like to listen to digital music from my satellite television provider, Directv. My stereo is hooked up to the satellite receiver. All I have to do is turn on the equipment, sit back and enjoy. There are 40 or 50 channels each with its own theme. No commercials. No talk. It's nice.
Recently, Directv dropped its old digital music provider, Music Choice, and joined with XM radio. Now all the stations are XM radio channels. I tuned in the other day. It felt like I had been teleported to a galaxy far, far away. Okay, I understand that XM radio is the next new thing. I should be thrilled. But I have to be honest here. When I'm in the mood for satellite radio, I don't want to think too hard. I want to tune in to the station called "rock" and turn up the volume; or "progressive" if I'm in the mood for something edgy; or "reggae" if I'm in an altered state. But "watercolors"? What the hell is watercolors?
