No, of course the bill's not going to "go anywhere," least of all in the current Republican legislature. It's going to be killed by the health-insurance lobby, much as you'd swat a fly. The point in supporting the federal single-payer measure is to stoke that inexorable grassroots support that alone will bring down the Goliath of for-profit healthcare in the end.
