I've lost count of the number of times I've been researching on the web and run into the free registration wall. BugMeNot has turned out to be incredibly useful as a time saver when all I want to do is quickly check something out. Simply paste the URL of the resource into their search box and hit return. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get a valid logon but it still saves a lot of time. They claim to have ‘liberated’ 80860 sites.
While it's useful if I found that I was constantly going to a free registration site, then I'd definitely register and I regularly do. But for a one off visit? Well, sorry marketing / tracking people, Bugmenot wins every time.
