The Prospect is reporting that FBI interviews in the Plame investigation are revealing that Bob Novak was warned that exposing Valerie Plame would endanger her and her sources, and that she definitely was not a mere analyst.
I know this will get a lot of play, and should.
My question is: shouldn't his newspaper suspend him immediately? If the charges turn out to be true, shouldn't he be fired and banned from the fourth estate for life?
While I'm ranting ... at what point do Fox, CNN, and all the other talking head hosts decide that one of their inventory of yappers has become untouchable [I meant: unhireable]? Shouldn't they stop inviting analysts whose analysis constantly turns out to be wrong? Do any of these profit-driven enterprises even have standards, any standards, much less ethical ones?
Why does Bill Safire still have a job, for instance?

Well, I just got done perusing some of my favorite new sites & weblogs, and I think a corner has been turned.
With the release of dental records (!) as the latest White House attempt to defuse the National Guard affair, the question is turning from "When and where did GWB serve?" to "What the hell are they hiding?"
In other words, the cover-up is, once again, becoming the story.
This is inexplicable to me. The last quarter century is chock full of examples of relatively minor, PR'able misdeeds being magnified many times over by trying to "manage" the coverage with half-truths, deceptions, and lies (Martha Stewart is the latest example).
This is really befuddling, how this White House seems to be all thumbs on this. Who'd'a'thunk?
Just playing here, but I just googled the phrase "modified limited hangout" and got 163 hits. I bet that number grows rapidly.
