Perhaps you've been lucky enough to attend a canned food sculpture contest lately. I must admit I hadn't even known they existed until I read that Peggy Fleming, former US Olympic Figure Skating Champ was going to be a judge for one in California last month. Who knew? I'm not sure of her art background, but I'm sure she knows what she likes...

I did a little googling and came up with the info that canned food sculpture competitions are usually done for worthy causes, like food banks, etc, and are entered by teams (often corporate) rather than individuals, though they can go either way. At the end of the contests, all the food is given to the sponsor to distribute. Kellogg University (is this too appropriate?) is a real champ on the circuit.

In case your vision of what

can be done with cans is fairly limited, I'd suggest you check out a site called Canstruction, at http://www.canstruction.com/indexi.html  for a mind-blowing assortment of the possibilities of cans.
