Out of Commission
I injured my back this weekend, and have been more or less out of commission ever since (although, thankfully, I have been able to move around). I saw the doctor on Monday, and he prescribed pain relievers and anti-inflammatory drugs. I did manage to teach today, but I was a bit spacy.
The injury felt more like direct damage to the spine than a muscle pull, but it's not easy to tell. It's actually quite difficult for doctors to determine what is the cause of the pain in any particular back trauma case. They are usually satisfied to prescribe you drugs, send you on your way and hope you get better.
Boy, pain like that sure makes you more sympathetic to the legalization of medical marijuana.
