Whither America?
Too sick and depressed to say anything. TBogg expresses my sentiments.
Remember, we cannot get around the fact that we are all Americans, and as such, President Bush now represents our preferences to the world. We have signed on to everything he has done for the past four years.
We are the warmongers. We are the torturers. We are the debtors. We are the polluters. We are the tyrants. We are the uncompassionate. We are the ignorant.
We are the ugly Amercans.
Postscript: Proposal 2 passed easily in Michigan, and similar propositions on ballots across the country passed easily.
So that friend of mine who is a professor at UM and has a lesbian partner and child? Michiganders just told her that, despite her excellence as a scholar, they don't want her kind here.
