What would Jesus eat?

A picture named fabjesus.gif Christian health experts are worried about the epidemic of obesity in the Church -- the same epidemic that has plagued the country at large. For surely the witnessing of the Word of God is compromised when its witnesses are too fat to get around to preach.

Consequently, ministers and Christian health gurus are calling for a health revival in the Church. As Jason Rubin, author of the New York Times bestseller The Maker's Diet, claims: "Thousands of years ago, the Israelites were much healthier ... my passion in life is to help transform the health of God's people, one life at a time, and through God's people change the world."

And the answers for the health crisis, as for every other human problem, are to be found in the Bible, suggests Dr. Chris Enriquez of The Healthy Life fame:

"The healthy diet ... is what we find in the Bible -- the fruits and vegetables in Genesis 1:29. God added meat in Genesis 9:3, but we're not supposed to let go of the carbohydrates [as the Atkins craze would suggest], because we need them for our energy.

If you are weighing down the Body of Christ, I recommend that you pray, confess your sin of gluttony, and then ask yourself the question, "What would Jesus eat?"
