Battlefield Talking Points

The Raleigh Observer reports that soldiers headed to Iraq are being equipped with plastic wallet cards listing talking points for interviews with journalists.

For example:

We are a values-based, people-focused team that strives to uphold the dignity and respect of all.

Critics of the provision should keep in mind that, as Maj. Jason Johnston, Pentagon spokesman for the Marine Corps, noted, "The media is just another element of what we call the battlefield environment."

Sneak Peek

Ain't It Cool News has posted high resolution images from Art Linklater's upcoming movie "A Scanner Darkly," based upon the Philip Dick novel. (For previous posts on the subject, click here and here.)

The movie will mix animation and live action footage. Strange (and yet not so strange) to see Keanu Reeves as a cartoon character.
