Judicial Activism
Judge Priscilla Owen of the Texas Supreme Court is one of Bush's nominees currently blocked by Senate Democrats.
In one controversial case, she dissented from the Court's opinion which interpreted state law to allow minors to have abortions without parental consent in certain circumstances. Owen claimed that the minor did not show that she was aware of the religious objections to abortion.
Guess who labelled Owen's dissent "an unconscionable act of judicial activism"?
