The Truth About Charles Colson and "Deep Throat"

Did Chuck Colson really have a "Born Again" experience in which his whole nature was changed from a Machiavellian "Hatchet Man" to a man of God? That's the question this article and the entire series of articles on Colson raises. If Colson, who is being judged here by his own words and testimony, truly had an encounter with God between 1974 and 1976, as he claims, then has he become a hypocrite? Or is he presently in a backslidden condition? Again judge him by his own words. The relevancy of Chuck Colson's conversion experience could not be stronger because millions of born again Christians are following leaders, like Colson, who may not be living as Christians. Stanley Kurtz did his best. In an article titled, “Dominionist Domination,” published May 2, 2005 by National Review Online, he tried to attack and crumble the reasoning in my essay, “The Despoiling of America.” He didn’t have much to work with, so as a last resort he made up things. He invented an essay that does not exist and said, “See! Look at what she wrote!” Then he gave a list of the imaginary faults in his newly rewritten essay and attributed them to me!
