If you read this disturbing article, kind of a full extended version of my entry two days ago, you'll understand why I left Japan. This is the type of madness that led them to the WW2...my heart goes to the poor hostages and their families. Sounds like Ms. Takato might be broken for the rest of her life, she seems too nice. Imagine that - she is more stressed out now at her own home than she was when she had a knife against her throat! I am glad this article came out, and hopefully international exposure will bring the ones not so infected to their senses.

A picture named muscari.jpg

If you have not yet smelled Muscari, or Grape Hyacinth, you owe it to yourself. It is such a titillating smell, that of the sweetest grape, or rather, grape-flavored bubble gum. What a happy genetic coincidence that this little flower looks AND smells like grapes - or is it? Maybe the purple pigment has something to do with the smell?
