Keiko Sono: moving

Well, we did it. We packed more than 200 boxes and stuffed my mother's garage and basement. I was dreaming when I thought I could continue uploading images of my previous dwelling and have occasional reflective moments. It was so stressful I think my hair turned more gray than ever. And this is only half of the story...we still have to close on our new house and move again in a month. But in the meantime, I'm off to the south of France (Lacoste) where I stayed for 8 months as a student 20 years ago. This was planned way before any of this move and buying of a house came around, and it just so happened to be right in between the first and second move so I'm leaving all the mess behind. I will be no where near a computer for 3 weeks so my blog must wait yet a little longer. I will be keeping a journal the old fashioned way, so I'll be blogging away upon returning on July 1. We are moving out of the house we've been living in for the last seven years--in two and a half weeks! I have barely started packing... I feel thoroughly insecure about having my infantile blog take a backseat, but I fear it must be done. I will post, as much as I can, images of the land I'm leaving behind.

Unbelievable. We found a house in one day. Our budget is under $200K and it is nearly impossible around here, but we manage to strike a deal on a very cute cottage with 4 acres of mountainous land. Now it's really going to be crazy for the next few months.

4/9/2004 Looks like we have an offer. It's not over till it's over, but it sure is one step further than having to clean up the house a few times a week only to have people peek into the door and turn back. We now need to start looking for a house and start packing. Sigh...
