Birdie's Formal Review of Healthy Remedies Beautifully Bright Teeth Whitener
It's time for more true confessions. I have a serious obsession with my teeth. I brush them three times a day - three complete minutes each time with a sonic toothbrush - and floss twice. And I don't mean the type of flossing most people do with a quick swipe between the teeth. I mean full-on hardcore flossing with thick flat floss, taking care to dip below the gum line and massage each tooth's angles and curves.
I know, I should seek therapy for this. I don't know where it originates. The rest of my body whimpers and whines that I don't take this level of care, but I am what I am. My teeth are my best feature. I've never had even one cavity. My only lament is that I can't justify spending several hundred dollars on one of those professional whitening programs. So, I was thrilled - thrilled! - that Avon just came out with a new teeth whitener.
Healthy Remedies Beautifully Bright Teeth Whitener is featured in the Avon Wellness catalogues. It comes in a small flat opaque bottle reminiscent of nail polish, but instead of painting your toes, you paint your teeth. It is as simple as it sounds. Avon claims that in just seven days, your teeth will be four shades whiter. The product can reduce staining caused by tobacco, tea, coffee, and red wine. My only vice is a good cup of Earl Grey, and with my obsessive compulsive oral care ritual (and believe me, it is more mystical ritual than anything else I do), my teeth did not start at a super yellow color.
You begin with clean, dry teeth, say the instructions, and you paint the front of each visible tooth, taking care not to apply the solution to your gums. Some people may be sensitive to the bleaching agent, but I didn't feel anything but a small tingle at the gum line. The product tastes a little like mint and a lot like Clorox. You keep your lips away from your teeth for twenty seconds until they are dry, then it's business as usual. You apply the Healthy Remedies Beautifully Bright Teeth Whitener (could the name be any longer?) in the morning and before bed at night.
I tested this product for a full month. My teeth did get somewhat whiter in a week. I don't know how to tell how many shades whiter they are. I don't think I had room for a ton of improvement. I was hoping to see even more brightening, but the teeth seemed to max out somewhere between week one and two.
I would use this product again, once my tea drinking causes noticable stains. I don't mind the laundry mouth sensation. Some people might.
