Guest Review: Anew Clinical Deep Crease Concentrate
Guest Reviewer Carroll Chiming in Again
When Birdie was here in September, she was alarmingly generous in
showering me with fistfuls of Avon samples and a whole host of
full-sized products as well. Those of you with long memories may
recall that I very eagerly embarked right away on a testing
process with the Avon Anew Clinical Deep Crease Concentrate,
which involved attempting to take a "before" picture, much like
Ulak did, only I was very unsuccessful in figuring out how to
highlight the actual depth of the crevasse between my eyebrows.
Seemingly no camera angle or method of lighting would suffice,
and since I really don't want Birdie's readers to think of me as
A Person With Angry Eyebrows anyway, we'll just skip on ahead to
the results, if that's OK with you.
I was faithful to the directions. I really was. Twice a day, on
one side of the forehead only so it would be possible to make a
direct comparison of the hopefully disappearing fissure. Two full
weeks. Hmm...better give it another week. OK, maybe a full
month then.
Folks, I have to say, I was hard pressed to see the slightest
perceptible difference in those two facial deformities. Maybe in
a younger face, with a less fully-entrenched set of creases. Or
in someone lacking the genetic scowl my mother apparently passed
on to me. But on me, after a full month of use, no way would
anyone have said it made so much as a fraction of a difference.
However, since Birdie gave me what appears to be close to a
lifetime supply of the stuff, and since it smells really nice
(light and flowery -- not cloying in any way -- just "nice" :)
and works just fine as a facial moisturizer (a little dab'll
definitely do ya!) I started rubbing a drop each night into both
sides of the offending forehead, and up into the middle part too,
Mmmm, moist. Mmmmm, fragrant. Sometimes (or not) I also put
some on in the morning after a shower. And, y'know what? Hot
damn if it's not starting to make a visible difference after all!
Maybe it's wishful thinking. Maybe it's a longer "take" on older
skin. Maybe it's just the festive holiday season working it's
crease-reducing magic. But, I swear it's really helping. Just a
little, but enough that I'm not going to feel so compelled to
return the rest of the samples to Birdie to pass on to more
likely candidates.
Would I buy it myself for real money? Not sure yet. I probably
won't have to make that decision for a very long time, since the
samples seem to last forever if I squeeze just a tiny drop out at
a time. From the looks of the bottle it comes in, you would
absolutely get your money's worth out of that product. I say, if
you're even remotely intrigued by the possibility, by all means
give it a try.
