Wattles-Be-Gone

review of Avon Anew Clinical Lift and Tuck by guest reviewer, Carroll

So, remember when Birdie was encouraging us all to report on new uses for tried-and-true products -- items being marketed for one part of the body that we had successfully (or un, as the case may be) tried elsewhere?

I seem to remember there was quite a bit of hoo-hahing (hee hawing?) about the possible application methods for "Bust Sculpt" for example, and some discussion about alternative uses for Anew Clinical Lift and Tuck.

By way of background here, let me digress for a moment and mention that my best friend and I, when a third friend turned 40 (my memory is still good enough to remember this occasion, but suffice to say it was not just the other day) spent a rather hilarious afternoon in front of a video camera making a tape to send her in honor of the occasion, in which we demonstrated, and discarded as utterly useless, all sorts of body enhancing devices with which we had felt compelled to experiment to forestall the ravages of rapidly advancing old age.

I don't recall all of the items that were flashed before that camera, although certainly reading glasses came into play (most likely to figure out how to operate the darn recorder) and some sort of waist-cinching device with I believe we concluded merely re-distributed the offending bulges into even less-desirable locations.

But I do very vividly recall that there was a disturbing (downright chilling!) discussion regarding the unexpected development of what we could only describe as "wattles". My friend and I were both horrified to discover that indeed, something seriously disfiguring was beginning to happen to the area between our chins and our chest.

I think at the time, we passed it off as inevitable, although sobering, to discover that we were already beginning to resemble our own mothers-in-law.

Fast forward now to a few months back when Birdie generously gifted me with a full-sized tube of Anew Lift and Tuck. Boy, does that stuff smell good! Having given up completely on the abdominal and posterior areas for which the product is marketed, I decided to utilize it just for the appealing fragrance, and a good place to put it seemed to be right up front where I could enjoy the lingering olfactory aura for as long as possible.

One less-than-pea-sized dab goes a long way, so I ended up smearing it around over a broader area than planned, mostly with my right hand smearing the left side of my neck and upper chest area.

You're ahead of me already on this one aren't you? Smart people :-)

Yes indeed. I was amazed, nay, flabbergasted, when, while scrutinizing some facial deformities in exceptionally good light the other day, I happened to notice that one side of my neck was, well, firmer than the other. Not exactly less wrinkled, mind you (oh dear, this is getting far too informative!) but definitely firmer. Likewise the somewhat (but only ever-so-slightly "somewhat") pudding-like tissue between my, uhm, middle chest, and neck. (Far, FAR too informative!!) Definitely firmer, but just on that one side.

Without a doubt, I will be continuing this less-than-scientific experiment (had it been scientific-like, I would definitely have been "applying" it rather than "smearing") but let me pre-empt the predictable hue and cry by stating up front (so to speak) that under no circumstances will there be "before and after" pictures. Not in this lifetime! You'll just have to take my word for this, folks. Smells good. Firms things. A definite thumbs-up for Anew Clinical Lift and Tuck!
