Astrology At Work and Play -- Patterns of Thinking, Deciding, and Feeling - May 2004

This month we return to March’s pattern of leading with our thinking or ideas, following with decisions and actions, and feeling last of all. As I said then, while this can make for some interesting things happening in the realm of relationships, it may not make for an easy expression of what we’re feeling.

We’re all in a phase of transition where we must imitate while retaining our inner integrity. Find the right attitude and point of view, as we are metaphorically "immigrants on Ellis Island waiting passage into our new country." Keep adapting as you move through explosive situations and people, and find a sense of humor and reserve as you learn to be fluid in dealing with, then retreating from, the world.

Talk about past as prologue! Stories of Vietnam and My Lai, almost 40 years later, were honestly and brutally exposed one more time for the entire world to behold and judge. This may be the American tragedy, as well as the American triumph: To fail in very human ways, and then honestly and openly try to examine its failures, hopefully and eventually to come to wisdom that it may never do so again. Welcome to the human imperative.

Every nation, in the heat of trying to win military battles, does what it shouldn’t do: kill indiscriminately, brutally, and then cover it up after the fact. Read more...
