Wolf Blitzer, Disinformation, and Richard Clarke -- a glance at the Neocon playbook
by Robert Wilkinson
Here's a perfect example of the shell game the Bush administration uses to lull Americans into believing there's any truth at all in what any of them say. This time, courtesy of CNN's Wolf Blitzer, the Neocons get a public forum to spread disinformation. It's the second story down on the CNN page. This is the same tactic all batterers use on their victims -- turn the blame back on those who challenge them through lies and assertions, and then deny saying those things later on. Place the focus on misleading petty things while savaging those who disagree with you. Attack the character rather than debate the facts, turning fact into opinion and opinion into "fact."

Oil, Gas, and the Bush Administration -- How to Ignore the Law
by Robert Wilkinson
Well, I always figured the game was rigged. Contrary to Federal Law, a huge number of oil and gas leases to drill on Federal land seem to go to the same few names. Here's a tidbit from CBS News that offers hard numbers about just how stacked the deck really is, along with some interesting campaign contribution figures. Funny how the oil and gas people just happen to donate massive amounts to the Repubs, but pocket change to anyone else. Hmmmmm... Still sounds like one hand washing the other.
There really are many ways to pick a pocket, especially if you have friends in high places. Funny how Dick Cheney's name keeps coming up....
