Fahrenheit 9/11 and Michael Moore
by Robert Wilkinson
Well, it's out. The election is in full swing, and ten thousand shouting heads have weighed in on Michael Moore's new movie, "Fahrenheit 9/11." Regardless of what other bloggers have to say in mean-spirited attacks, this movie may very well be a refreshing, funny, poignant, and outrageous counter for Republican propaganda. Or so we've been told.
While it probably won't change anyone's mind about Bush or Kerry, it will give a lot of us a good laugh, and probably confirm some of our worst suspicions about the strange bunch in the White House. And I’m so happy that a former chief counsel for the FEC has stated in the LA Times that they will probably allow him to spend as much of his own money as he wishes promoting his product despite Republican complaints. Mighty democratic of our system to allow a private entrepreneur to spend his money as he sees fit despite political manipulators. There may be hope yet for free speech!
