Astrology Hot Zones - Yods, Fingers of God, and Saturn In Cancer - An Insecure Security

Saturn is firmly in Cancer where it will remain until July 2005. Due to Saturn's station in October 2003, we are now in process of being enveloped by the power of the star Sirius, the "Sun of our Sun," the source of our Ageless Wisdom, the power of the global brain, and our connectedness to greater star systems. Expect the continuing concretization of the form of Wisdom glimpsed autumn of 2001, internalized that winter, moved into during spring 2002, and embraced summer 2003.

Autumn 2002 through May 2003 showed us what had become “bankrupt,” or no longer relevant to our lives and purposes. In June, 2003, Saturn entered Cancer, moving the focus away from mental discoveries and attitudes of Saturn in Gemini into the feeling realm. Since then most of us have been searching for security, a sense of comfort and protection, or new ways to provide for our needs. Our sense of family has become stronger, as has our recognition of the limitations resulting from personal habits or living circumstances.

In June 2004, Saturn again moved across Sirius, marking a point of no return for all of us. During the Spring we explored the play between the inner and the outer, the visible and invisible., and found an "unusual good luck" as we moved into a higher order of behavior. Those who used the time best became more refined, crafted, learned how to express humor, discernment, self-control, understanding of human nature, and light touch, or became aware of a higher level of personality integration and illumination. The Mars transit of Cancer triggered these traits in May-June 2004, setting off the Saturn component of the interlocking “Yod” configurations presently putting all of us under multiple “Fingers of God.”

Saturn has challenged our character, flexibility, and willingness to “materialize the spiritual” using the wisdom-form we’ve been learning since October 2003. We’ll see the limitations or blessings for the personality integration vision and practices we embraced in 2002, this period has allowed all of us to consolidate our affairs in a big way. We will continue to consolidate and secure a more solid base of operations through Summer 2005, when Saturn will enter Leo, bringing a different set of lessons.

We have now entered the other major “hot zone” with Jupiter, Saturn, and Neptune exactly forming one of the interlocking Yod, or “Finger of God,” configurations, squeezing all of us toward a higher destiny. This is an extremely heavy, very rare pattern that will affect us all in radical ways. Sacrifice whatever you need to, since it’s not necessary any more. The space you create in your mind and life will be filled with what you need to live the “higher destiny” that you’ve idealized for a while. Since Jupiter and Saturn are social planets involving the destiny of nations, and Neptune is a transpersonal, collective consciousness planet, expect radical developments that may not be personal, but will affect all of us personally.

Use the productive relationship between Jupiter and Saturn to do the work you need to, take care of the details, and reshape your motives, your ability to forgive, and your relationship to the greater Mystery. The whole world is being exposed to its Higher Angel, as well as its Great Delusion. And it is helpful to remember that either you’re driving your own boat, someone else is driving it for you, or no one’s at the wheel, and you’re drifting whichever way the current and wind blow.

To sum up, in June 2003 major decisions were made concerning the areas ruled by Saturn in your chart, including the houses where you have Capricorn, Aquarius, and your natal Saturn. These decisions began to take clearer shape in March 2004. Continue to observe the changes in these sectors of your personal birth map. We have all become more Cancerian in some way in these life areas. And remember that as long as Saturn is in Cancer, security will continue to be found by establishing a secure base, or reorganizing your needs or habits. Beginning Summer June 2003 we all had come to a higher and wider perspective, and were challenged to go beyond the known and familiar, plunging into the virgin possibilities of life. Now that unknown is established. Expect major storms, catharses, and disruptions October through December 2004.
