2004 for Cancer

This year continues the theme of 2003, finishing a destiny cycle while opening a new 29 year cycle of power, authority, and partnership. As things ended last year, you were able to crystalize new opportunities, new ways of relating, new regenerations, or new access to shared wealth or values.

Things will continue to close out this year, so reduce your load, conserve your energy, be responsible, and author your own destiny by consciously accepting new duties, disciplines, or power with grace, idealism, and poise.

All Cancers remain in radical transformation, with "expansion through sacrifice" paramount in various areas of life simultaneously. You've been under a "Yod" configuration, or the "Finger of God." This invisible hand is squeezing you into a narrower focus while keeping things extreme, nebulous, and transforming. You're making big adjustments in your profession, public standing, self expression, children, learning, travel, ethics, philosophy, or higher view, especially early July Cancers. Though feeling the weight of the world, it is also time for harvesting the results of patience and hard work.

Insecurity is natural during these changes. Stay organized in responding to opportunity, mature regarding your needs, and end the habits that have created problems in your life. Conserve your energy, let go of nervous worry, and stop being so defensive about your perceived authority, or lack of it. There are obligations to be met, so stop being crabby and do them! You'll find that generating merit for its own sake often leads to unexpected discoveries and assistance.

The vision, adventure, or larger understanding offered between July 2001 and July 2002 created these possibilities. June 2003 began a decision-making process, and if you took the long view, all is well. Keep doing your new work, use resources efficiently, and learn new ways to communicate, perceive, and interpret things. Don't indulge in excessive criticisms, nit-picking, or focusing on small things to avoid looking at sacrifices that need to be made.

A 2 year cycle of vision, promise, and activity began June-July 2002, leading to a crisis of decision beginning Summer 2003. Mars goes through Cancer again this May-June, so get ready to activate your new life, authority, or duties. A wisdom is now a constant presence in your life, and it's time to surrender to your higher power, as unsettling as it seems. You saw the possible futures during the last half of 2003, and now you're confronted with what will make it real.

The first 9 months of 2004 offers new resources, helpers, perceptions, and ideas. Please remember not to let the endings and duties of the past 3 years make you older and grumpier than you have to be. You'll start seeing the larger ideal in October if you're oriented in the right direction and have the right attitude toward others.

For June Cancers, the first half of 2004 offers extremely productive opportunities to make progress toward your new authority or role. Your genius is up the whole year, and though sometimes it'll be weird, you'll understand how and when to stand up for some ideal, regardless of the consequences. Assert yourself, be inventive as you go deeper into shared feelings, and close out whatever is needed March-April to move quickly and cleanly into your new life in May. October-November will offer the platform for a 7 year accomplishment if you find your place of greatest service to your world while keeping the momentum in your own hands, cultivate a form of dramatic self-expression, continue to beware of exaggeration or waste, and stop worrying needlessly!

Mars can create hassles, or the need for some form of right action without being hassled, in early January, mid-April through late May, and late September through October, when things can get out of balance quickly, or beginnings show a dream to be captured. End whatever you need to in April and early May, and turn to the new 2 year cycle that begins in May. Just slow down and don't allow impulsive or hasty speech or actions to create needless accidents!

For July Cancers, your 2 year cycle begins between late May and late June, so you also need to slow down, take it easy, and not allow the fast pace to create needless problems during those weeks. End whatever you need to in late April through May, since major responsibilities, completions, and realizations about limits will begin mid-May, and be active through summer 2005. Mars can create hassles, or the need for some form of right action without being hassled, in January and early February, early April through late May, and mid-October through mid-November.
