Astrology at Work and Play for October 2004 - Harvest Time for Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Pisces
by Robert Wilkinson
It's now autumn, where we harvest the results of our labors from past seasons. The metaphor works in terms of our personal life as well. The Harvest Full Moon of Sept. 28 shows us a new way of power, and during the next weeks we will see the results of our ideals made manifest. Formulate carefully, and craft your vision with style and elegance. With the Mercury conjunct Mars, slow down some things while speeding up others. Decrease argumentativeness or impulsiveness, and try to be fair. Sometimes superficiality is not necessarily a vice.
We are now going through some big quincunxes that force us to adjust to the new ideal by productivity in Leo and Taurus ways. Boiled down, it means strive for stability, honor, nobility, creativity, naturalness, simplicity, calm, and new ways to enjoy life's creature comforts. Be gentle and courageous as you move into the new way begun late September. Taurus and Leo people will have productive opportunities to make needed adjustments. Sacrifice whatever you need to, since you're being squeezed into a more forceful demonstration of your higher Self.
Since the cluster of planetary conjunctions at 30 Virgo and early Libra is now past, new movement should be obvious in the affected area of your life. There is a new rhythm in the areas in our charts involving the signs of Aries, Gemini, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Pisces. As you can see, this is 2/3 of our existence. If you've done the work you needed to this past year, the upcoming year will see the ideal take concrete shape. If there's still work to be done, refine, balance, get a different perspective or sense of proportion, and strive for fairness and inner equilibrium. For now, get out and meet some new people.
And don't forget to offer a prayer of thanks this October for the wonderful Libras who made the world a better place. Gandhi and John Lennon spring to mind, and certainly their shared politics of non-violence seems like the only sane way for our world to come out of the fear, hatred, and barbarism that we're subjected to. Libra strives to make a better world, more fair and just for all. Libra's reason and moderation are healthy antidotes for the stubborn selfish extremism that seems so prevalent today.
