Astrology Hot Zones December 2004 for Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces

by Robert Wilkinson

We have several major events going on for the last half of December (besides Christmas, of course!) First off, heads up this weekend, since Venus squares Uranus and Mercury goes stationary direct on Sunday, December 19. The Moon in opposition to Jupiter and wide square to Saturn shows a real need for discipline, self-control, and maturity, along with adaptability and discernment. Venus square Uranus indicates a need for definiteness and clarity without tension, nervousness, or irritability. Don't jump to conclusions or respond in an eccentric way, but do see ways to capitalize on recent sudden or unusual developments, and develop an ability to recognize or direct broad based enterprises or public trends.

The cardinal T-square will affect Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, and Libra the most. The early mutable square portends the same square culminating December 30 between Mars and Uranus, promising more volatility than the Venus square. The square on the 30th is also accompanied by the Moon in Virgo forming a T-square, showing lots of activity going in many directions at once. February Pisces, May Geminis, August Virgos, and November Sagittarians are most stressed, so be careful in all encounters, short journeys, agreements, and speech. Be alert to sudden or enexpected developments, take nothing for granted, and be skillful in how you display your enthusiasm.

And we cannot forget the Winter Solstice on December 21 at 4:42 am PST, kicking off Winter and beginning the lengthening of the days, a welcome thing for those of us who need the Sun to stay cheerful. Which is all of us, in case you forgot. This solstice's planetary positions indicate we'll all get opportunities to go our own way next year, retiring from some old dramas while short-cutting our evolutionary process. There are definitely new openings for many next year if they've been willing to risk their old lesser self for the sake of a greater Selfhood. This is a year of reorientation, fulfillment, and release of power once processes have run their course.
