Astrology Hot Zones for January 2005 - Antidoting the Cardinal T-square affecting all signs, Pt. 3
by Robert Wilkinson
In Part 1, I covered some important points of focus that can help antidote the powerful energies of the cardinal T-square active throughout January, and the birthdays strongly challenged in the coming month. In Part 2, I covered which degree spans are most active, and the signs most directly affected by this month's intense cardinal activity. I also listed which birth years are most heavily influenced in terms of purification, transformation, upheaval, renovation, and restructuring, in terms of Pluto, Uranus, and Saturn position. In this article, I'll offer some specific ways to respond productively and what to watch out for.
As for the specific configurations, the first half of the month challenges us to find our place of greater service to our world and ourselves, so bring forth a new self-representation, Presume little, force nothing, and get the cooperation you need for your efforts while maintaining your freedom to act. These are the powerful energies of the Sun, Jupiter, and Saturn. These affect our sense of power and purpose, our functioning in society and our larger possibilities of growth in this world. These inner forces challenge us to overthrow oppressive life-stifling limitations, and let go of lesser responsibilities while accepting those more in line with our dharma.
Dharma roughly translates into "true functioning," in the sense that you're doing your Being. Dharma has to do with a greater Truth of Self, beyond beliefs, opinions, perceptions, or interpretations of any sort. Even to speak of it is but to examine a few facets of an infinite jewel of Truth. The entire concept of dharma makes for very interesting possibilities, but for now, back to the configs.
Figure out what bores you, and what would bring you greater personal satisfaction. These are the things you won't lose interest in any time soon. Let the Light externalize the Duty, and the old fears and rationalizations give way to the Light. Any Sun opposition Saturn gives us the chance to overthrow the chains of old limits and see a greater effectiveness. It just requires taking personal responsibility for knowing what to do, how to do it, and waiting until just the right moment to undertake the work.
The Jupiter-Saturn square will not become exact until later this year, but the Capricorn planets tie it together. This configuration challenges us not to let our rules put the brakes on our imagination, and to grow in our willingness to see a bigger picture, diminishing selfishness, narrowness, or meanness in every way possible. Depending on whether Jupiter or Saturn is stronger, we'll all go through a larger challenge of crisis around what to do and how to do it. We're learning why we want what we want, how to hang in there, and make success worth its price. This square affects wherever it falls in your chart and the houses they rule. The Moon makes the Grand Cross on January 15-16, so be prepared! Things bust loose one way and another at a cross. The trick is to keep it all in perspective and not get too scattered. I'll discuss more about this and the Mercury and Venus T-square antidotes in a couple of weeks.
Some thoughts about the degrees of this square, since these will be triggered throughout the month. Learn how to take time to rest, and get a bigger, strife-transcending outlook on things. Reap the rewards of past efforts, detach, play for the long haul, and put forth effort. You'll find protection in your new realizations. Continue to simplify, blend the past and the potential for the future, assimilate skills and experiences, interact with others, and try to find a long-lasting sense of fellowship. Even if there's a sense of being lost, there is a fulfillment at the end of the journey.
Be objective, face facts, see what needs to be redistributed, challenge the familiar conventional wisdom, and throw off old things that kept you in bondage. Renew, refresh, anticipate, and stay centered in your Higher Self. There is a new potential unfolding, with tremendous possibilities for self-expansion. Find your protection, make your inner resources known to your world, be aware of competitors, and bring forth your excellence. It should be easy to find new self confidence, since there are rewards coming for having fulfilled your "responsibility." You are being guided to your Sanctuary, and may be called to offer timely assistance, or you may have this given to you. Search for life's kindness. Contemplate what you've just read.
