2005 for Leo

In 2005, Leo opens to new visions and new interpretations while closing out an old 29 year cycle of how your tribe expresses your light (or your self-image, if this pertains to your Ascendant, or rising sign). For August Leos, this year is still about learning closure rituals and taking the long view. It will be most difficult, or fulfilling, for Leos born in July of any year, due to Saturn hanging out on your Sun starting July 2005 coupled with the oppositions and squares you'll be dealing with beginning August. July Leos must begin to cut back on all that does not express their evolved sense of light, power, and vitality, and be careful not to take on duties or responsibilities that are not true for them.

All Leos have had to become very clear these past several years while practicing creative efficiency and nurturing the seeds of future stability. 2005 is actually a very productive year where different perspectives can be observed, methods of communicating can be refined and made more charming or elegant, and a more balanced view toward your world can be secured.

In 2004, Leos accumulated the resources and assets that stabilize the 12 year cycle of magical new vision and learning that began Summer 2003. The first 9 months of 2004 Leos had to do the detail work, and see what you value and why. As of October 2004, Leos began to get a more ideal view of shared values and resources, creativity, or children, as well as a new self expression and way to future wealth and power. This will naturally evolve into the next phase in November 2005.

Keep refining your unique qualities in how you spontaneously express yourself and your ability to play with imagination to regenerate your life. The long term idealism, otherworldliness, or confusion in your partnership sector continues for several years to come due to Neptune in your partnership sign, and Uranus, the ruler of your partner, in Pisces. If it seems as though you're living in a dream, that's not so far off. Just remember that subtlety works better than heavy-handedness or outright deception, which you're not really suited for, due to your naturally creative extroverted qualities.

You have a great potential to become much more compassionate and intuitive in all one-on-one interactions for some time to come. If you are in a relationship, as with last year, your partner has the ability to become more intuitive, visionary, and broadminded, but also confused, confusing, or peculiar based on a misunderstanding. Trust your own intuition here, but nail down the specifics so you don't get lost in weird feelings.

In 2001-2003 you redefined your friendships, ambitions, and long range goals, and since June 2003 have learned which motives are no longer fulfilling, which self-destructive behaviors are a problem, perhaps spending more time in solitude and/or contemplation of the whole of your life. This fulfills, and perhaps ends, what began for you between 1975-1977. In 2004-2005 you're harvesting the results of your old self image while getting a new look at your life "mythology" and how it's hindered you, or allowed you to get to this point of maturity, power, or authority.

Keep letting go of oppressive duties and restrictions, and take on no responsibilites you can't live with, since you'll rebel more strenuously as the year goes on. Bring things to completion, and decrease your load. You have more important things to deal with, and the adjustments you make this year will open you to greater opportunities that allow more creativity, play, or naturalness in your self-expression.

2005 will bring you much more fiery, inspired friends than those of past years, due to Mercury retrograding in the Fire signs this year. You attracted Air sign friends in 2001-02 and Earth sign friends in 2003-04, so enjoy the stimulation that your brother and sister Fire signs will bring you this year! You'll find they're not spacy, tenative, or as controlling, manipulative, or pragmatic as those of the last few years. They'll be much more active, alive, changeable, and warm. You will also hear from old friends, or make new ones that may resemble old ones in some curious way, in late March-early April, late July-early August, and late November-early December 2005.

For July Leos, the first half of 2005 shows that you will achieve finality on some things you've lived with a long time. You are completing a set of needs in who you relate to, and how you relate to them. You are ending a long cycle related to work and health, your sense of service, and how much you do or do not defer to others. When in doubt, retreat, meditate, take the widest possible view, and end the feelings and ideas lurking in your subconscious that keep you defensive, unnecessarily hurt, or needlessly rigid. During this period, make whatever adjustments you need to, purifying your feelings and cultivating opportunities for simple ways to increase income.

The second half of the year will be more challenging to July Leos, as it is the end of the end and the beginning of the beginning. You are seeing what you can live with, and what you can't. Don't get discouraged at the slowed pace. Take on no new tasks that aren't absolutely necessary. Even then, make sure you're not taking on too much, or having someone else's burdens loaded on your shoulders. For many early Leos, it will bring recognition and the results of long held ideals and patient, professional work. If in a relationship, you can be sure your partner understands you, both your limits and your strengths.

Saturn on the Sun really does bring the rewards you are due, or not, depending on what effort you have made over the course of years to live your light and truth, whatever these may be. You can bet you'll be receiving the results of your due diligence, come what may. And remember that any burdens, rules, or old ways you leave behind will free up space for important new responsibilities and realities to come, so prepare. Your adventure is already in your vision.

For this group, Jupiter's entry into Scorpio late October through December will bring important new opportunities. The challenge will be to find an adequate form of self-dramatization, keep the momentum under your control, and find your place of greatest service to your world. Avoid excess, and keep it sweet, gentle, and simple.

Mars started your last 2 year cycle in late June-early July 2004, and are offered a chance at mid-course adjustment in March, preparing to culminate that particular form of activity by December 2005 or January 2006. Mars can create hassles, or the need for some form of right action without being hassled, from March 20-31, the first half of August, and late November through December. These periods challenge you to be friendly, detached, see the big picture, and not get frustrated by the pace, bogged down in stubborn oppositions, or too fractured in your affairs.

For August Leos, you're still completing things related to motive, behaviors that created sorrow for you in the past, and a sense of waiting or preparing for work to come that you've tenatively already been doing. You will feel a definite shift in late July in all work and health related areas, as well as the insecure heaviness you've been feeling but not knowing what to do with it. Accept the new self-expression, creativity, or inspiration that's offered. Whatever you do with children will succeed beginning then. You'll start feeling a new authority, a new duty, a new motive and purpose this August, so try not to chafe at the slowed pace this year or next.
