Astrology Hot Zones for April 2005 - Mars affecting Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces

Mars is the "tripwire" for activity in our charts. During April 2005, people going through dynamic activity, a hectic fast-paced period, or those having the hardest time this month will be those February Aquarians, May Tauruses, August Leos, and November Scorpios. People with birthdays during these periods need to focus on what constitutes responsible action, given the high energy of this period. Mars tests us to get our energetics together, and shows us how we achieve self-control or not. It is our "fight or flight" principle, as well as a symbol for that which aggravates us, or a time to beware of hasty action, argumentativeness, or impulsiveness. Those born in the first ten days of February, May, August, and November will be most influenced in the first half of April. Those born between the 10th and the 20th of these months will be most influenced during the last half of April.

November Scorpios are seeing the first emergence of something begun late November or early December 2004. See the new life direction or new way of naturally expressing yourself. Get grounded, and remember that "as the roots, so the flowers." Effort now is critical to future success. Be noble, inspired, honorable, gentle, direct, and keep it all very simple without being stubborn. The first half of the month you can easily and naturally express your ideal of spontaneity or play, and unite yourself with your creative process. See a more fluid and ideal way to work or adjust to situations.

Aquarians born the first 10 days in February are seeing the end of a 2-year cycle and the beginning of a new one during the first half of April. Those born between Feb 10-20 will see this in the second half of April. Slow down, finish up what you’ve been doing these past two years, and refuse to get hassled or pushed beyond your limits. This is a period of endings and beginnings, so focus on how your attitudes, interpretations, environment, profession, or public standing have changed since May-June 2003.

End what needs to end, examine your motives, and diminish impulsive or stubborn behaviors that create sorrow. Face the future, work with vision, and by mid-April you will receive gifts, or see a path to your unique gifts and qualities. This month don't get too irritated or impulsive while embracing a new vision or professional direction. You can achieve maximum effectiveness this month, so find your vision and go for it! You can cut through the obstructions this month, since the power and momentum is in your sector.

Taurus people born the first ten days in May are seeing the culmination of something they began in late February 2004. Those born between May 10-20 are culminating that which began early March 2004. The lessons for Taurus in April involve detachment, largeness of vision, concentration of energy, self-purification, and regeneration. Act with generosity and greatness of heart, and cultivate playfulness and creativity. Claim your personal power and further the momentum while not being impulsive or aggravated as you accept higher recognition.

This impacts partnerships and motives, and the sector of self-undoing behaviors that create sorrow. It is the fulfillment and culmination of an old cycle, so begin to capture the fruits of past labors, and complete whatever you need to in preparation for the new cycle that begins in August-September 2005. At that time, Taurus will need extraordinary patience and perseverence, as well as flexibility and the ability to re-evaluate any old stuck points of view hindering the entry into your new life to come in 2006.

August Leos should avoid aggression, impulsiveness, or getting aggravated by oppositional people while correcting whatever they need to within the cycle that began July or early August 2004. This is a critical mid-course correction. Bring different things to surface, or correct what you need to while avoiding adversarial interactions. Use simplicity, gentility, concentration and purification to shift the balance in problematic areas of life regarding the future, morality, philosophy, education, home, family, and ways of understanding their early childhood.

The first half of April can bring strong intuitive impressions regarding a more ideal future and help to cut through something unclear in the foundations of life. It should be a fairly strong and agreeable time for Leo, and help to open a larger vision and sense of freedom to do whatever you need to in order to expand your creativity and sense of playfulness.

Because we're dealing with Mars, it of course affects the areas of your chart influenced by Aries and Scorpio, so take note. It also affects planets you may have in these signs, as well as Taurus, Leo, and Aquarius. Don't forget to include your progressions and solar return planets.

The quincunx effect significantly influences 10-20 degree Cancer and Virgo planets the first half of the month, while 20-30 Cancer and Virgo planets will be more affected the last half of April. Quincunxes always indicate a health issue on some level (not necessarily physical!), and require an adjustment through sacrifice, this being narrowly focused according to birthday. People born the first 10 days of July and September will be most affected by the quincunx the first half of April, whereas those born the second 10 days of July and September will be most affected in the second half of the month.

Mid-December Sagittarius and mid-March Pisces will be most influenced by the semisquare in the first half of the month. December Capricorns and March Aries will experience the semisquares the second and third weeks of April, while early January Capricorns and early April Aries will experience the semisquares the last week of April. There may be internal crises of direction, or the sense that something is beginning to open (or close) and decisions must be made.

It should still be smooth sailing for most Geminis this month, despite their ruler Mercury being retrograde the first half of the month. Get out and meet some new people, try some new activities, learn something new that expands your vision or your understanding, and you can move toward a larger ideal. The second half of the month is great for Taurus, as long as they observe the requirements outlined above.
